At the front of the house we have a bank of lavender, it smells wonderful as you brush past it, especially with a wheelie bin! I have seen recipes for lavender biscuits but have not tried them, today I rectified that. I chose a recipe from Meeester Nik it looked like the biscuits would be light and fragrant, and they were.
"Lavender biscuits, with lavender picked fresh from the garden this morning. As long as you can get your hands on the stuff, it’s one of the easiest biscuit recipes of all."
have you tried the Lavender cupcakes in the Hummingbird bakery cookbook? They are very fragrant, I will do them again, but about half the amount of flowers they recommend - but another one to try! the biscuits look yummy - I also have a massive amount of Lavender in the garden (about the only plant that survives our local St A flinty soil.)
The cupcakes sound really nice, I've just found the recipe you recommended online Lavender Cupcakes You are right about not being too heavy handed with the lavender! I ruined a gardening fork trying to dig in the stoney St Albans soil, bent the prongs!
Lavender biscuits are delicious. I've never made them myself, but a friend has .... often. Mmm! Off for a coffee now, it will seem sadly lacking .... not a single biscuit of any kind in the house! x
Not even a bourbon or a custard cream?
