I've had enough of the snow now, pretty as it is maybe through the window, it's starting to get in the way. Today is the day to take down and put away Christmas decorations, I want to put the snow away too!
I must tell you how kind Kathie from Massachusetts is, she sent me a key. It's a key for my wind up, tin toy, Russian dolls. Thanks to Kathie I can now watch my pair of Russian dolls rotate and twirl.
I bought some vintage Christmas decorations this week, they may not be to every ones taste. I love the fact they are naively painted, moulded plastic, just charming kitsch frippery!
I have the metal wind up doll, a blue version of the one you have! It's a snegurichka doll, the "snow princess" that accompanies father frost. I would love to find a key... can you help?
Thanks,
Svetlana
Hi Svetlana
Try this site www.neatstuff.net/wind-key they sell spare keys
I didn't have a key for my dolls until Kathie in Massachusetts kindly sent me one. In Massachusetts there is a tin toy manufacturer called Schylling, it was by luck the key fitted but I am guessing one key might fit all!
Hope this helps and you too will see your doll dance!
Anjie
Anjie how lovely to be sent a key for your Russian toy how kind of that blogger.
No the ornaments are not to my liking but I'm glad you like them shame you have to put them away until next year though.
:)
I have very eclectic taste, very wide and very varied!
